Custom Cast Components
Custom cast components are castings made to your drawing, sample or pattern in the most suitable process and alloy, supplied as-cast or fully machined. We help choose between sand, shell, investment and die casting based on size, volume, accuracy and cost.
What it is
Starting from the finished part drawing, the casting is designed with draft, radii, machining allowance and feeding in mind. Pattern or die type is chosen to match expected volumes, and samples are approved before production.
We coordinate the foundry, heat treatment, machining and finishing so you receive ready-to-fit parts under one order.
Typical applications
- Converting fabricated or machined parts to castings
- Replacement castings from samples
- New product castings
- Low-volume special castings
- Machined casting assemblies
Suitable materials
- Grey and SG iron
- Carbon, alloy and stainless steels
- Aluminium alloys
- Brass and bronze
Points to consider
- Share annual volume; it decides pattern type and process.
- Existing patterns can be reused if in good condition.
- Converting a welded part to a casting can cut cost at volume.
- Approve first samples (with inspection report) before production.
Frequently asked questions
Can you make castings from a sample?
Yes. A pattern can be made from a sample, with allowances for shrinkage and machining, after confirming dimensions with you.
Which casting process should I use?
It depends on size, volume, material and accuracy. Share the drawing and volumes and we will recommend the most economical process.
Can you supply machined castings?
Yes. Castings can be supplied fully machined, heat treated and finished, ready to assemble.
