Industrial Glass Components
Industrial glass components include sight glasses, borosilicate tubes and discs, gauge glasses, ceramic glass panels and toughened or laminated glass parts for machines and process equipment. We source the right glass type, thickness and edge work to your drawing.
What it is
Different glasses suit different jobs: soda-lime float glass (toughened or laminated) for guards and panels; borosilicate glass for sight glasses, gauge glasses and chemical or thermal duty; glass-ceramic for very high temperatures such as furnace and stove windows.
Parts are cut, drilled, edge-ground and, where needed, toughened, with dimensions and tolerances confirmed before processing.
Typical applications
- Sight glasses for tanks and vessels
- Level gauge glasses
- Furnace and oven windows
- Machine windows and panels
- Laboratory and process glassware
Materials & grades
- Toughened and laminated float glass
- Borosilicate glass
- Glass-ceramic (high temperature)
- Quartz glass (special)
Points to consider
- State operating temperature, pressure and chemical exposure.
- Pressure sight glasses need rated thickness and proper gaskets.
- Toughened glass cannot be cut after toughening.
- Glass-ceramic handles the highest temperatures.
Frequently asked questions
Which glass is used for sight glasses?
Borosilicate glass is common for its thermal and chemical resistance; pressure-rated designs follow standards like DIN 7080.
What glass withstands the highest temperature?
Glass-ceramic and quartz glass handle much higher temperatures than toughened or borosilicate glass.
Can you supply glass to drawing?
Yes. Glass is cut, drilled and edge finished to your drawing before any toughening.
