Non-standard Fasteners
Non-standard fasteners have dimensions, materials or thread forms outside catalogue standards, such as imperial sizes, obsolete threads (BSW, BSF, BA), unusual lengths or rare materials. We supply them made to sample or drawing for maintenance and legacy equipment.
What it is
Old and imported machines often use fasteners that are no longer stocked: Whitworth threads, unusual pitches or lengths. These are measured from samples, confirmed using thread references, and manufactured to match.
Our Thread Finder helps confirm unusual thread dimensions quickly.
Typical applications
- Legacy and imported machinery
- Restoration of old equipment
- Unusual thread pitches and forms
- Rare material fasteners
- Replacement studs and bolts
Materials & grades
- Carbon steel (4.6, 8.8, 10.9, 12.9)
- Stainless steel A2 (304) / A4 (316)
- Alloy steel (B7, high-tensile)
- Brass and non-ferrous
Points to consider
- Send a sample or gauge the thread; confirm TPI/pitch and diameter.
- Specify material and strength if the original is unknown.
- Small quantities are machined.
- Keep drawings for repeat orders.
Frequently asked questions
Can you make Whitworth bolts?
Yes. BSW, BSF and other older thread forms are machined to sample or drawing.
How do I identify an unknown thread?
Measure the diameter and pitch/TPI and compare in our Thread Finder, or send us a sample.
Do you make one-off fasteners?
Yes. Small quantities and one-off fasteners are machined from bar, so you don't need to order a full production batch.
